Morgan County Delegation Discusses Key Issues at 2026 Legislative Update

Approximately 190 business and community leaders gathered on July 21 for the Chamber's 2026 Legislative Update at the DoubleTree by Hilton Decatur Riverfront. Moderated by Scott Mayo, Executive Director of the Cook Museum of Natural Science, the forum featured Senator Arthur Orr, Representative Terri Collins and Representative Parker Moore as they discussed the 2026 legislative session and topics important to Morgan County including workforce development, healthcare and education.

As part of the program, the Chamber recognized Representative Terri Collins as she prepares to retire from the Alabama Legislature, thanking her for her many years of dedicated service, leadership and commitment to Morgan County.

The Chamber has an active public policy committee that advocates for legislation to foster a healthy business community. Part of that work is the development of our public policy agenda, which our membership assists in developing. It is used as a guideline for positions taken by the Chamber on a host of policy issues.
