October SuperStar Teacher: Celebrating Kassie Duke at Lacey’s Spring School

Our presenting sponsor, Hubbard & Drake General-Mechanical Contractors, Inc., represented by Brian Beidleman along with our October Monthly sponsor GE Appliances, a Haier company represented by Lindsey Fish, joined John Holley, Past Chair of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, and Chamber staff to surprise Mrs. Duke with a $150 gift card for her classroom, a $50 gift card for personal use and a $1,000 grant awarded to Lacey's Spring School from the Chamber’s One Vision Foundation.
“Mrs. Duke consistently demonstrates exceptional teaching skills and innovative methods that create a highly engaging and effective learning environment for all students. One of the most notable aspects of her teaching is her commitment to hands-on learning. Lessons are designed to be interactive and tactile, allowing students to physically engage with materials and concepts, which deepens understanding and retention. Additionally, she incorporates movement throughout the day, helping students stay focused, energized, and ready to learn,” wrote Principal Cameron Mahan in his nomination.
The Chamber’s SuperStar Teacher program celebrates educators who make a significant impact on their students, colleagues, and communities. This initiative is part of the Chamber’s ongoing commitment to recognizing and supporting outstanding educators in Decatur-Morgan County. The One Vision Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, funds these grants through the generous support of our Chamber members. Chamber members can contribute through their invoices, or anyone can make a tax-deductible donation by visiting our website at https://www.dcc.org/one-vision-foundation/.
