Alabama’s Economic Growth Recognized with 2026 Silver Shovel Award

The award highlights major investments and growth taking place across Alabama, including U.S. Space Command’s selection of Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville as its permanent home and Eli Lilly’s $6 billion pharmaceutical manufacturing facility planned at the Greenbrier exit off I-565.
In 2025, Alabama reached an all-time high with $14.6 billion in new capital investment and 9,388 new jobs across 234 projects, according to the Alabama Department of Commerce.
This continued investment is creating opportunities for communities across the state, including right here in North Alabama, by supporting workforce development, business growth and long-term economic success.
Congratulations to our state and local partners working to make Alabama a leader in economic development.
