May SuperStar Teacher: Celebrating Emily Hadden at Union Hill School

Emily Hadden, a kindergarten teacher at Union Hill School, has been named the Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce’s SuperStar Teacher for May.

Our presenting sponsor, Hubbard & Drake General-Mechanical Contractors, Inc. represented by Brian Beidleman, along with Chamber Board Member Chris Adkison and Chamber staff, surprised Mrs. Hadden with a $150 gift card for her classroom, a $50 gift card for personal use and a $1,000 grant awarded to Union Hill School from the Chamber’s One Vision Foundation.  We would also like to thank our May monthly sponsor Moonwalk Inflatables Tents & Party Rentals, Inc.

“Mrs. Hadden consistently demonstrates exceptional teaching skills and implements innovative instructional strategies that elevate the learning experience for every student in her classroom. She approaches instruction with intentionality and creativity, designing lessons that are not only academically rigorous but also highly engaging and relevant,” wrote Principal Deedee Hendrix in her nomination. “Notably, Mrs. Hadden has taken the initiative to learn another language in order to communicate more effectively with her bilingual students and their families. This extraordinary effort reflects her deep commitment to inclusivity, cultural responsiveness, and meaningful connection.”

The Chamber’s SuperStar Teacher program celebrates educators who make a significant impact on their students, colleagues, and communities. This initiative is part of the Chamber’s ongoing commitment to recognizing and supporting outstanding educators in Decatur-Morgan County. The One Vision Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, funds these grants through the generous support of our Chamber members. Chamber members can contribute through their invoices or anyone can make a tax-deductible donation by visiting our website at https://www.dcc.org/one-vision-foundation.
