GE Appliances, a Haier company Announces $28 Million Investment in Decatur Facility

GE Appliances, a Haier company, a Strategic Partner of the Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce, has announced a $28 million investment in its Decatur facility.

The investment includes upgrades to manufacturing operations as well as a new on-site primary care clinic for employees and their families. Improvements at the plant include advanced thermoforming technology designed to increase efficiency and expand production capacity across multiple refrigerator models. Additional facility enhancements include new lighting and upgraded commercial air-conditioning units to improve the employee work environment.

The new clinic will serve employees and their covered family members ages 2 and older, giving them greater access to convenient, high-quality primary care. The Decatur clinic is the company’s fourth on-site advanced primary care clinic at a manufacturing location.

As the largest employer at a single location in Morgan County, GE Appliances, a Haier company continues to play a major role in supporting the local workforce and economy. This latest investment further strengthens Decatur-Morgan County’s position as a hub for advanced manufacturing.

The announcement is part of GE Appliances' previously shared plan to invest $3 billion to expand U.S. manufacturing over the next five years, reinforcing the company’s long-term commitment to designing, engineering, and building advanced products in the United States.
