February SuperStar Teacher: Celebrating Amy Hood at Priceville Elementary School

Our presenting sponsor, Hubbard & Drake General-Mechanical Contractors, Inc., represented by Brian Beidleman, along with Chamber Board Member Jeni Jordan and Chamber staff, surprised Mrs. Hood with a $150 gift card for her classroom, a $50 gift card for personal use and a $1,000 grant awarded to Priceville Elementary School from the Chamber’s One Vision Foundation. We would also like to thank our February monthly sponsor, Party Central, Inc.
“Over twenty-five years of teaching experience have prepared Mrs. Hood with the knowledge and skills to support all students. Through careful observation and analysis of data, she can easily identify struggling learners and has the expertise to help them succeed. While working in the kindergarten classroom, Mrs. Hood helped students achieve academic growth beyond compare. As an instructional partner, she assists other teachers, allowing her to positively impact even more students. Spending time in her classroom, one word comes to mind: magical. The students are highly engaged and are clearly absorbing everything she presents to them," wrote Priceville Elementary School Principal Daniel Gullion in his nomination.
The Chamber’s SuperStar Teacher program celebrates educators who make a significant impact on their students, colleagues and communities. This initiative is part of the Chamber’s ongoing commitment to recognizing and supporting outstanding educators in Decatur-Morgan County. The One Vision Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, funds these grants through the generous support of our Chamber members. Chamber members can contribute through their invoices, or anyone can make a tax-deductible donation by visiting our website at www.dcc.org/one-vision-foundation
