November SuperStar Teacher: Celebrating Coach Keith Wright at Hartselle High School

Coach Keith Wright, a 9th–12th grade Intro to Law teacher who also coaches Varsity Baseball and Junior High Football at Hartselle High School, has been named the Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce’s SuperStar Teacher for November. He graduated from Hartselle High School and has taught there for 33 years.

Our presenting sponsor, Hubbard & Drake General-Mechanical Contractors, Inc., represented by Brian Beidleman and Jason Tindal, along with our November monthly sponsor GE Appliances, a Haier company, represented by Lindsey Fish, joined Chamber staff to surprise Coach Wright with a $150 gift card for his classroom, a $50 gift card for personal use, and a $1,000 grant awarded to Hartselle High School from the Chamber’s One Vision Foundation.

“Mr. Keith Wright has had a profound impact on both colleagues and students through his consistent mentorship, care, and commitment to fostering a positive school culture. His ability to build strong, authentic relationships sets him apart as a trusted figure on our campus. Colleagues frequently turn to him for guidance, knowing he brings not only professional expertise but a genuine desire to help others grow. He willingly shares instructional ideas, offers encouragement, and models what it means to create a supportive and student-centered classroom. His understanding of our school culture allows him to lead by example, promoting collaboration, positivity, and a sense of community among staff,” wrote Principal Dr. Brad Cooper in his nomination.

“The staff here at Hartselle High School is amazing. Our administrators are some of the best educators that you will ever find, and it makes it even more special to be recognized by them, just because of the job that they do within our school system and the job they do for our kids on a daily basis,” said Coach Wright.

The Chamber’s SuperStar Teacher program celebrates educators who make a significant impact on their students, colleagues, and communities. This initiative is part of the Chamber’s ongoing commitment to recognizing and supporting outstanding educators in Decatur-Morgan County. The One Vision Foundation, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, funds these grants through the generous support of our Chamber members. Chamber members can contribute through their invoices, or anyone can make a tax-deductible donation by visiting our website at https://www.dcc.org/one-vision-foundation/.
