September SuperStar Teacher: Celebrating Anna-Margaret Inman at Career Academies of Decatur

Anna-Margaret Inman, a 10th–12th grade Health Science Teacher at Career Academies of Decatur in the Decatur City School System, has been named the Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce’s SuperStar Teacher for September.

Our presenting sponsor, Hubbard & Drake General-Mechanical Contractors, Inc., represented by Brian Beidleman, along with Cindy Smith, Chair-Elect of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, Mrs. Inman’s family, and Chamber staff, surprised Mrs. Inman with a $150 gift card for her classroom, a $50 gift card for personal use, and a $1,000 grant awarded to Career Academies of Decatur from the Chamber’s One Vision Foundation. We would also like to thank our September sponsor GE Appliances, a Haier company.

“Anna-Margaret Inman consistently demonstrates exceptional teaching skills through her dedication to providing engaging, student-centered instruction. In her Health Science classes at the Career Academies of Decatur, she goes beyond traditional teaching methods by creating interactive and scenario-based lessons that mirror real-world healthcare situations. These activities not only capture students’ attention but also give them practical, hands-on experience that prepares them for future careers in healthcare. By designing lessons that simulate professional medical settings, she ensures students graduate with both confidence and competence,” wrote Principal Ressa Chittam in her nomination.

“Mrs. Inman’s volunteer work and extracurricular leadership reflect her heart for service and her drive to create positive, lasting change. She has enhanced the school and community not just through her ideas but through her willingness to work tirelessly to bring those ideas to life.”

“I was a nurse for several years, and I felt a pull to go into education. I feel like God has called me to be a teacher, and having something like this just solidifies that for me and lets me know I’m fulfilling my purpose,” said Mrs. Inman. “I love being with our students and helping lead them into the future of healthcare.”

The Chamber’s SuperStar Teacher program celebrates educators who make a significant impact on their students, colleagues, and communities.
