2025 Legislative Update Highlights Impact of Recent Session on Decatur-Morgan County
On June 3, the Chamber hosted the 2025 Legislative Update at the DoubleTree by Hilton Decatur Riverfront. This event provided a valuable platform for the business community to engage with the Morgan County Delegation and discuss the most recent legislative session in Montgomery. The conversation covered topics such as record education and General Fund budgets, grocery tax cuts, workforce development and more—all with a focus on how these efforts impact Decatur-Morgan County.
We’re thankful for the relationship we share with our delegation and appreciate the time and leadership of Senator Arthur Orr, House Majority Leader Scott Stadthagen, Representative Terri Collins, Representative Parker Moore and Representative Ernie Yarbrough. The Chamber would also like to thank Wade Weaver, general manager of Adams Beverages and chair of the Chamber’s Public Policy Committee, for being our moderator.
The Chamber has an active public policy committee that advocates for legislation to foster a healthy business community. Part of that work is the development of our public policy agenda, which our membership assists in developing. It is used as a guideline for positions taken by the Chamber on a host of policy issues.
