Hiring Event on May 28 Connects Job Seekers with Employers

On May 28, the Chamber, in partnership with AIDT and Career Connect, hosted a successful Hiring Event at the Fort Decatur Recreation Center. With more than 250 job seekers connecting with 15 local employers, the event offered a wide range of job opportunities and on-site interviews. Attendees were able to print their digital resumes and engage with employers through the Career Connect platform, which also allows them to receive communications from employers after the event.

The event was part of the broader regional effort to support workforce development in North Alabama. In the 13-county region, the Career Connect system currently has 73 companies registered, 188 available positions and 3,728 job seekers registered. Events like this reflect our shared commitment to open doors to career opportunities and strengthen our local workforce.
