Morgan County Students Sign Summer Internships with Hubbard & Drake

Two Morgan County Tech Park juniors are one step closer to launching their careers, thanks to a growing partnership between industry and education. On May 10, Mason Lawrence and Turner Wray signed Letters of Intent for summer internships with Hubbard & Drake General-Mechanical Contractors, Inc.

The internships, which could lead to cooperative work opportunities during the students’ senior year, are the result of a collaborative effort between Hubbard & Drake and Morgan County Schools. The Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce was proud to help facilitate the connection, supporting ongoing efforts to align classroom learning with workforce needs.

“This partnership is a great example of what happens when education and industry come together to invest in the next generation,” said Amber Fortenberry, Director of Talent Development & Recruitment for the Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce. “Opportunities like this are key to building a strong and skilled workforce in our region.”

The signing ceremony, held at Morgan County Tech Park, highlighted the commitment of local industry to student success and workforce development. The Chamber applauds Hubbard & Drake and Morgan County Schools for their leadership in creating meaningful school-to-work pathways.
