2024 State of Morgan County Forum Focuses on Growth and Development

The Chamber held the annual State of Morgan County Forum on February 28 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel, Decatur Riverfront. Morgan County Commission Chairman Ray Long, District 1 Commissioner Jeff Clark, District 2 Commissioner Randy Vest, District 3 Commissioner Don Stisher and District 4 Commissioner Greg Abercrombie answered questions that provided an overview of the progress made in the past year. They also discussed upcoming road and community projects such as a new event center planned for the Cotaco/Union Hill area.

The State of Morgan County is one of several “State of” events the Chamber hosts annually that focuses on public policy. One of the missions of the Chamber is advocacy for public policy that creates an environment for business growth, economic development and a high quality of life for each resident of Morgan County. And in doing that work, the Chamber’s public policy committee meets each fall to discuss local, state and federal legislative issues that impact our business community and what the Chamber believes is good for both businesses and citizens.
