Congressman Dale Strong Addresses Business Community at Washington Update

On January 23, Congressman Dale W. Strong took the stage at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Decatur Riverfront for the Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce’s 2024 Washington Update presented by TTL, Inc. The event, attended by over 150 members of the business community, featured a one-on-one discussion between Congressman Strong and Wade Weaver, Chairman of the Chamber's Public Policy Committee.

"It's been interesting. I feel like it's been more than a year," Strong said.

A variety of topics were covered that ranged from the representative's first year in office to local and national issues from the construction of a second Tennessee River bridge to foreign policy and immigration after his recent trip to the U.S.- Mexico border.

"What we need to do is get our dollars back here locally," Strong said of the prospective bridge construction. "You spend them, you figure out where the bridge needs to go. It's going to work out” said Strong. “The thing that everybody understands, we need another bridge.”

We appreciate the Congressman taking the time keep us informed on the work being done on our behalf in the nation’s capital. The Chamber looks forward to continuing the dialogue with local, state and federal leaders to address crucial issues affecting our community. Congressman Strong will be back in Washington D.C. for the next legislative session, which begins January 29.

Thank you to our presenting sponsor TTL, Inc., and gold sponsors Pryor Field Airport Authority and United Launch Alliance.
