Workforce NOW Summit Focuses on Building a Qualified Workforce

The Chamber’s 2023 Workforce NOW Summit was held on November 17 at Calhoun Community College. Keynote speaker, Donny Jones, Executive Vice President and Chief Workforce Officer for the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama and Executive Director of West Alabama Works, shared insights on overcoming workforce barriers and how businesses and communities can collaboratively build a qualified, trainable workforce for the future.

Houston Blackwood, with the ACCS Innovation Center, led a breakout session on their rapid workforce training program, Skills for Success. Whitney Barlow, with Alabama Technology Network, led a session on Connex Alabama, an online platform connecting all U.S. manufactures into one single, accurate and searchable supply chain database.
