Area Chamber members finalists for state small business awards
Two members of the Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce were recently recognized by our state business associations as two of the top small businesses in Alabama for their impact on their surrounding community.
Elite FlooringAmerica of Decatur and Valley Rubber, LLC of Falkville were finalists in their respective categories for the 2020 Small Business of the Year Awards, presented annually by the Business Council of Alabama (BCA) and the Chamber of Commerce Association of Alabama (CCAA). Elite FlooringAmerica was a finalist in the 1-10 employees category, while Valley Rubber was a finalist in the 51-100 employee category. The award ceremony was held virtually in early December in conjunction with the combined annual meeting for BCA and CCAA.
“This year’s finalists once again show the strength of the Morgan County small business community,” said John Seymour, president and CEO of the Chamber. “Elite FlooringAmerica and Valley Rubber are both shining examples of businesses that take care of their customers, deliver a high-quality product, and contribute back to the community that supports them. Even in these trying times of economic uncertainty, these two finalists have adapted their business approach to our current climate while taking care of their workforce. We’re proud to say they are from Morgan County.”
