The Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce and the Decatur-Morgan County Entrepreneurial Center will host a town hall meeting on the State's new crowdfunding law, allowing small business and startups to raise up to $1 million for an enterprise through the process of securing financing from backers – the "crowd" – to fund an initiative, the collection of which usually occurs online.

On July 15, City of Decatur Mayor Don Kyle released a statement in response to a lawsuit filed against the City regarding its form of government and subsequent settlement offers addressing the suit. We believe it is important for all the facts of both the lawsuit and the timeline of the litigation to be made available for the public to create an informed opinion and educated dialogue.
